This 2-1/2-quart saucepan combines an elegant design in gleaming stainless-steel with the excellent performance that Calphalon cookware is known for. This saucepan is perfect for tomato sauces as it has a wider base for first sautéing garlic and a high enough shape for boiling tomatoes. It can also boil onions, stock, and vinegar for a savory clafouti or cook up a creamy chicken stew for four people. The pan is crafted of beautiful 18/10 stainless steel inside and out with a brushed finish on the interior to help maintain the pan's luster. A heavy-gauge aluminum core runs through the saucepan's center to provide more precise heat control. This nifty little pan can be used for everything from simmering veggies to creating chicken cacciatore for two. The glass lid allows the cook to see how things are progressing and whether the 'simmer' is too high or too low. Clean up is much easier than I had presumed - having grown up with aluminum and cast-iron pans in the 50's - especially with a stainless-specific cleanser. I reach for this little beauty nearly every day.

The Calphalon Everyday pan is an excellent addition to my kitchen. This 12" pan has the non-stick surface, unlike the everyday pan I have owned for over 10 years. As expected the non-stick surface makes clean-up much much easier - especially for egg dishes and stir fried dishes like Pad Thai. I am very happy with it.

This was a perfect replacement for the 10" glass lid I accidentally broke. And the seller shipped it via DHL, instead of UPS, so it was delivered to my P.O. Box with no pain or attempts to track down packages.

The price may seem a bit steep, but the construction and materials are excellent - thick stainless steel and a VERY firmly attached handle.

I'm considering replacing all my glass lids with stainless steel. I won't be able to see how things are cooking, but at the same time I'll never have to worry about breaking another lid.
